During the search, Gipsy Danger is ambushed by the Kaiju and smashed through the adjacent buildings. Lashing out with its tail, Otachi uses the city buildings to evade detection.
Gipsy Danger fights Otachi with the tanker until the Kaiju tears the ship from its grasp, and tosses it aside. Once the Kaiju's death is confirmed, Gipsy Danger enters the city armed with an oil tanker. Raleigh decides to "check for a pulse" by unloading another volley of shots into its body, making sure that it's really dead. Locked in a power struggle, Gipsy Danger amputates Leatherback's arm with the Plasma Cannon, killing the Kaiju with several shots to its side. Grappling the Kaiju from behind, Gipsy Danger continues to push Leatherback back toward the water. It uses its elbow rocket to keep Leatherback down. Gipsy Danger fights to keep Leatherback from breaching the port any further. However, Leatherback tosses the Jaeger across the harbor and into the port. Gipsy Danger tears the EMP organ from Leatherback's body and appears to gain the upper hand in the battle. Gipsy Danger engages Leatherback, drawing its attention away from the disabled Jaeger and its pilots, Herc and Chuck Hansen. Gipsy Danger is the last Jaeger to arrive on the scene in the Victoria Harbour and saves Striker Eureka after it is disabled by an EMP burst from Leatherback. Gipsy Danger prepares to fight Leatherback. Raleigh Becket is later recruited by Pentecost as the co-pilot of Gipsy Danger. When the United Nations officially cuts funding to the Jaeger Program, Gipsy Danger undergoes the final preparations for its last mission alongside Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon, and Striker Eureka. The Jaeger is rebuilt with new technology, a solid iron hull with no alloys, retractable chain swords, new cockpit, and updates to the control interfaces to match recent tech upgrades by the PPDC. The Mark-3 Restoration Project is sanctioned by Pentecost, and Gipsy Danger undergoes major reconstruction and refurbishment under the supervision of J-Tech officers Mako Mori and Tendo Choi. When reporter Naomi Sokolov arrives at the Anchorage Shatterdome to interview Pentecost, Gipsy Danger is in the process of being of airlifted to the Hong Kong Shatterdome. Around the time Anchorage Shatterdome closes in 2024, Stacker Pentecost goes against the Pan Pacific Defense Corps's desire to junk the Mark-3 Jaeger, relocating it to the shuttered Shatterdome. Gipsy Danger is airlifted out of the Anchorage Shatterdome.įollowing its pyrrhic victory, Gipsy Danger is salvaged from the Anchorage beach and sent to Oblivion Bay. Raleigh emerges from the Conn-Pod and collapses on the beach from the near-fatal strain of piloting Gipsy Danger solo. Raleigh is able to pilot Gipsy long enough to reach the shores of Anchorage, where the Jaeger falls. Īs Knifehead begins to tear away at Gipsy Danger's armor, Raleigh is able to use the right Plasma Cannon to kill the Kaiju once and for all. Overpowering Gipsy Danger, Knifehead breaches the right side of the Conn-Pod and tears away half of Gipsy Danger's head, killing Yancy in the process. Knifehead severs the left arm from Gipsy Danger's body. Knifehead blocks the attack and pierces the Jaeger's armpit. Yancy attempts to hold Knifehead back while Raleigh preps the left cannon. The injured Kaiju reemerges from the ocean and ambushes the Jaeger. Knifehead falls into the sea, presumed dead by the pilots. The Beckets use the Plasma Cannon and shoot Knifehead in the abdomen. Gipsy Danger pushes back and grabs the side of its head. Knifehead retaliates, catching the Jaeger's left wrist in its jaws. Raising its arms, it lands a blow on the Kaiju's head. Gipsy Danger punches Knifehead in the face, knocking the Kaiju off balance. They approach the Kaiju's present target, the Saltchuck, from underwater and emerge in time to save the fishing boat from certain destruction, disobeying Stacker Pentecost's order to ignore it. In 2020, Gipsy Danger is deployed into the Gulf of Alaska to fight the Kaiju Knifehead. Prior to 2020, Gipsy Danger earned four Kaiju kills with the Becket brothers. In 2019, Gipsy Danger accompanies Lucky Seven and Horizon Brave to Manila to stop a Category IV Kaiju. In 2017, Gipsy Danger fought against the Category III Kaiju Yamarashi. Gipsy Danger was piloted by the Becket brothers, Yancy and Raleigh. Launched on July 10, 2017, Gipsy Danger was stationed at the Anchorage Shatterdome, tasked to defend the coastline of Alaska. Gipsy Danger was constructed on Kodiak Island at the Jaeger Academy’s Jaeger testing facility.
